• Hieromartyr JANUARIUS 雅努阿 (Gennaro) (304) Bishop of Benevento in Italy, was beheaded, perhaps with his companions: SOSIUS 索西 deacon of Miseno, PROCLUS 普若克洛 deacon of Puzzuoli and FESTUS 斐斯特 the bishop’s deacon, GANTIOL 甘提奥尔, EUTYCHIUS (Eutychetes) 艾弗提希, ACUTIUS 阿库提 eminent laymen, and DESIDERIUS 迪西德里 a lector of his church, at Pozzuoli (305) under Diocletian. His relics were enshrined in Naples of which he became the patron-saint. The annual miracle of the liquefaction of his blood is famous
Fourth century bishop of Benevento, Italy during the persecutions of Diocletian. Arrested while visiting imprisoned deacons, and then martyred with them. His blood was preserved, and dried. Since at least 1389, on his feast day, and on the Satuday before the first Sunday in May, the blood liquefies.
