• "CONSTANTINOPLE" Icon (1071) of the Mother of God 君士坦丁堡圣母像纪念日
The Constantinople Icon of the Theotokos is venerated at Moscow’s Dormition Church on Malaya Dimitrovka. This image is different from the Constantinople Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos celebrated on September 17, although it appears to be a copy of it. The wonderworking Constantinople Icon appeared on April 25, 1071.

Blessed Elder Archimandrite Philotheos Zervakos of Longovarda (1884-1980) is a well-known 20th-century Greek Orthodox elder, from Paros island, and spiritual son of St Nektarios of Aegina. He was imprisoned twice by the Turks during the final years of the Ottoman occupation of Thessaloniki and many have witnessed the saint to "float/walk on air". Although he has not been glorified he is considered a saint in Greece.
• ANINANUS 阿尼纳诺 2nd bishop of Alexandria (86) the Shoemaker
Ὁ Ἅγιος Ἀννιανὸς Ἐπίσκοπος Ἀλεξανδρείας
Bishop and aide of St Mark. In the apocryphal Acts of Mark, Anianus is described as the 2nd bishop of Alexandria, Egypt. Mark states that Anianus was originally a shoemaker. Other lists refer to Anianus as a noble who was consecrated by Mark and named to succeed him.

Ὁ Ὅσιος Βασίλειος ὁ Ἡσυχαστὴς
St Hieromonk Basil was the spiritual father of St Paisius the starets from Neamţ and one of the most famous teachers and followers of the prayer of Jesus in the 18th century. He is known also for the fact that he was one of those who revived the Orthodox monastic life in his time.

Studied at the Cathedral School of Laon, France. Priest. Monk at the Benedictine abbey at Lobbes, Belgium. Spiritual student of Saint Ursmar. Benedictine bishop, the successor of St Ursmar as abbot of Lobbes Monastery, in Belgium, and as regional bishop in 713 (Bishop of Lobbes in 711. Second abbot of Lobbes in 718.). Erminus governed the many monastic and diocesan activities of Flanders for many years. Supported missionaries, known for wisdom and personal holiness, and the gift of prophecy.

He was a Persian bishop, who preached the faith in England about the same time with St Austin, in the 7th century; and having for some time prepared himself for his last passage, by solitude, watching, prayer, and fasting, at Slepe, now St Ive’s, in Huntingdonshire, he there died and was buried. His body was found by a ploughman, in a pontifical habit and entire, in 1001, on the 24th of April. By the fame of miracles performed at his relics, many resorted to the place, and a Benedictin priory was there built, though the saint’s body was soon after translated to the great abbey of Ramsey.

• Holy Apostle and Evangelist MARK 马可 (63) Bishop of Alexandria
Ὁ Ἅγιος Μᾶρκος ὁ Ἀπόστολος καὶ Εὐαγγελιστής
Believed to be the young man who ran away when Jesus was arrested (Mark 14:51-52), and the "John whose other name was Mark" (Acts 12:25). Disciple of Saint Peter the Apostle who travelled with him to Rome, and was referred to as "my son Mark" by the first Pope. Travelled with his cousin Saint Barnabas, and with Saint Paul through Cyprus. Evangelized in Alexandria, Egypt, established the Church there, served as its first bishop, and founded the first famous Christian school. Author of the earliest canonical Gospel.

Born in Connaught in Ireland, Mella was the mother of two saints, Cannech and Tigernach. After the death of her husband, she became a nun and Abbess of Doire-Melle, Leitrim.

• PHAEBADIUS (Fiari, Phebade) (392) Bishop of Agen in the south of France who succeeded in stamping out Arianism in Gaul, together with his friend St Hilary of Poitiers. He was one of the best known bishops of his time and presided over several Councils including Rimini in 359, Valence in 374, and Zaragoza in 380. Friend of Saint Hilary of Poitiers with whom he waged a successful fight against Arianism in Gaul; his only surviving writing is Contra Arianos (Against Arianism)

Patriarch Stephen of Antioch was the special target for the fury of the Monophysite heretics. In the end they attacked him at the altar, struck him down, and flung his body into the River Orontes.
