The elder reposed on June 9/22, 1923 in his country house in Vereya of the Moscow region. In 1933 the body was transferred to another cemetery and was found imperishable. There is plenty of evidence of gracious help in various needs through the prayers of the elder. Many such cases have been noted in the restoration of the church on Maroseyka street. It is known that when people address him in trouble: "Father Alexey, help me" – the help comes in very soon, father Alexey acquired great grace from the Lord to pray for those who addressed to him. When St Baithen ate, before each bite he recited the prayer "Deus in adjutorium meum intende". • Sainted CYRIL 基里尔 archbishop of Alexandria (444) // JUN 9 REPOSE // JAN 18 //
Today we commemorate St Cyril's repose. He is also commemorated on January 18, the date of his restoration to his see in Alexandria after he had been driven out by Nestorians.
• Venerable CYRIL 基里尔 abbot of White Lake (Byelozersk) (1337-1427)

There are six saints named Pelagia (which means 'of the sea' as does Marina) entered on the Roman calendar. Some of them may be legendary; others perhaps not. Today's Saint Pelagia was a 15-year-old martyred at Antioch. Disciple of Saint Lucian of Antioch. When soldiers arrived to arrest her for her faith, she believed she would be raped. To escape she invited the soldiers in, claimed she was going to change, then jumped out of an upper floor window; she was killed by the fall.
• RICHARD Bishop and Confessor of Andria in Apulia, in the province of Bari
He was an Englishman, and was made by the pope first bishop of Andria, Ughelli says in 492; but he finds no other bishop of that see before the eighth century; nor does it seem probable that St Richard could be more early, the English not being converted before the year 600. His name is clearly English, or at least Teutonic, in which language it signifies Rich Heart. He was illustrious for miracles and his eminent sanctity.
