During the reign of Emperor Philip, mobs at Alexandria, Egypt, ranged the streets torturing and killings Christians. Among their victims was the young maiden Quinta who was scourged and stoned to death when she refused to sacrifice to pagan gods (or tied to a horse's tail and dragged through the street until she was dead). Saint Cointha is pictured as a maiden stoned and dragged by a horse. Often she is fastened to the tail of the horse and dragged by her feet.

• Hermit CUTHMAN of Steyning (9th c.) a confessor who lived a holy life as a shepherd near Steyning in Sussex in England. The church there was dedicated to him
ELFEDA (also Enfleda, Aelffled, Alfleda, Elgiva, Edilfleda, Ethelfleda, Aelbfled, Aelfflaed or Aelflaed), Abs. of Whitby (653-714) Daughter of Oswy, King of Northumbria in England. She was offered to God as a child at the convent of Hartlepool. She then went to Whitby with St Hilda and succeeded her mother Enfleda as abbess there. She was one of the most influential people of her time.
HONORATUS of Milan (570) appointed Bishop of Milan in Italy in 567, at a time when much trouble by disputes was caused by Arianism and the Lombard invasion. He was driven from out of Milan by the Lombards and died in exile
JUVENTIUS bishop of Pavia (1st c.)
The tradition is that St Hermagoras Bishop of Aquileia and disciple of the Apostle Mark, sent Sts Syrus and Juventius to preach the Gospel in Pavia in Italy where the latter became the 1st bishop.
KIGWE of Wales (also Kew, Kewe, Ciwa, Kegwe. Kigwe, Kywa, Kuet, Kigwve or Kywere), Pat. of St Kew in Cornwall (5th c.) and venerated in Gwent in Wales

Daughter of Boleslav, Duke of Czechia. She founded the convent of St George in Prague.
• MEINGOLD (892) a holy man, lived in Huy on the Meuse and was venerated in Belgium • Martyr MEINGOLD (also known as Meingaud, Mengold) of Huy (892)
There was a holy man, who was venerated in Belgium after his death in the 10th century. Long afterwards he seems to have been confused with a certain Count Meingaud of Huy, who was assassinated the same year. The most credible of the many legends attached to the name is that the belligerent count experienced a conversion, repented, but was killed soon afterwards by his former enemies.
NICETIUS (Nizier) of Besançon (611) Bishop of Besançon in France and a friend of St Columbanus of Luxeuil and Saint Gregory the Great, and an enemy of heresy. He restored the episcopal see to Besançon after it had been transferred to Nyon on Lake Geneva after the invasion of the Huns
ONCHO (Onchuo) the Poet (600) a pilgrim, poet, and guardian of holy relics and the Celtic tradition. While searching for memorials of the saints, he reposed at Clonmore monastery in Ireland and his body was enshrined there together with the relics which he had gathered
PAUL of Verdun (649) a courtier who became a hermit on Mt Voge (now Paulberg) near Trier in Germany. Later he became a monk at the monastery of Tholey and then Bishop of Verdun in France
Having lived in the world a perfect pattern of perfection by alms, fasts, assiduous prayer, meekness, and charity, he retired among the hermits of Mount Voge, near Triers, on a hill called from him Paulberg. King Dagobert placed him in the episcopal chair of Verdun, and was his protector in his zealous labours, and ample foundations of that church.

• Sainted 萨瓦 SAVA II Archbishop of the Serbs (1269)
Ὁ Ἅγιος Σάββας Ἀρχιεπίσκοπος Σερβίας
Sava was the son of King Steven (Stefan) the First-crowned and nephew of Saint Sava I. Before tonsuring, Sava was called Predislav. Following the example of his great uncle (St Sava) Predislav was tonsured a monk and zealously dedicated himself to a life of asceticism. He was chosen Archbishop of the Serbs, succeeding St Arsenius under the name of Sava II. He governed the Church with great devotion and love. Sava II died in the year 1268 A.D. His relics repose in the Monastery at Pec.
