• The Sacred Icon of the Annunciation of the Mother of God Panagia Evangelistria of TINOS (1823)
Our Lady of Tinos (Greek: Παναγία Ευαγγελίστρια της Τήνου, Panagía Evangelístria tēs Tēnou, lit. "The All-Holy Bringer of Good News", and Μεγαλόχαρη της Τήνου, Megalócharē tēs Tēnou, lit. "She of Great Grace") is the major Marian shrine in Greece. It is located in the town of Tinos on the island of Tinos.
The Tinos Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos continues to be venerated as one of Greece’s holiest treasures. Innumerable miracles of healing and deliverance from danger have not ceased since the time the icon was found.
The ritual year of the miraculous icon on Tinos starts on 30 January with the festival dedicated to the Finding of the Icon. The next festival is dedicated to the Day of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary, for from this the icon gets its name. July 23 is dedicated to the Vision of Saint Pelagia. The most important festival, the Dormition of the Panagia, is celebrated on 15 August.
Synaxis of The Three Hierarchs: Our Fathers among the Saints the Ecumenical Teachers Sainted BASIL 瓦西里 the Great (379), Sainted GREGORY 格里高利 the Theologian (389) and Sainted JOHN 约翰 Chrysostom (407)
This feast was instituted during the reign of Alexis I Comnenus (1081-1118). A dispute arose in Constantinople among various prominent citizens and clergy, about which of the three Fathers Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, or St John Chrysostom was the greatest. In typically Byzantine fashion, the people of the City joined into the dispute, which became more animated, dividing the populace into three hostile factions styling themselves Basilians, Gregorians and Joannites. At last, desiring to restore peace to the City and the Church, the three holy hierarchs themselves appeared to the monk John Mauropus; they revealed to him that they stand together in harmony and in equal glory before the heavenly throne, and instructed him to compose a common service for the three of them. He began to pray and had the delight to have an apparition the following night by the three great teachers, who told: "Tell these Christians to cease these useless discussions. Before God, none of us three is greater than the others. We make only one, among us there is neither disagreement nor division. What one believes and has taught, the others believe and have taught. Arise then and warn them to remain in peace and concord. Finally, to practically affirm this unity of our faith choose a day and on it celebrate the Liturgy in our honor to thank God for the graces which He has bestowed to all three of us and by us to the Church, and especially this that in the Orthodox faith and in its teaching, God has always kept us in one accord with the Holy Catholic Church."
It was done thusly. Saint John (Mauropus) obeyed, and chose January 30 as the date of the commemoration, since each of the three hierarchs is commemorated separately in January.
A Triple Sun enlightens this day.

Saint Hyppolitus wrote likewise many an exegesis of Holy Scripture, on the Biblical Books: Genesis, Exodus, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, the Song of Songs, and on the Gospels of Matthew, Luke and John, and on the Prophets Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Zechariah, on the Psalms of David and on the Apocalyse. Part of his works are preserved only in fragments. In full are preserved his discourses, devoted to the Theophany and the Prophet Daniel. • Commemoration of the deliverance of the island of Zakynthos from the plague by Saint GEORGE the Great Martyr (1688)
The Great Martyr of Christ, George, is especially honored this day in Zakynthos, because he is linked to the salvation of the island from the plague that took place in the year 1688. In 1669 Cretan refugees came to the island of Zakynthos after Heraklion fell to the Turks, among whom was Ioannis Papadopoulos who brought with him an old icon of Saint George, which was placed inside the Church of Saint Demetrios of Kola. Sacrilegious thieves, however, stripped it of its silver trim and threw the icon in a trough on November 13, 1688. According to the scholar and priest Nicholas Gavriilopoulos, two young men at dawn were going hunting, and on their way they came upon the icon in the trough. They ran back to the Church of Saint Demetrios and told the parish priest where they found it and how. The Protopriest and other priests from the island went to the spot of the discovery with candles and incense and brought it to Foros (Saint Mark Square), where an excommunication was read towards those who committed this sacrilege. Finally it was then transferred back to the church again. Some days later, on November 24th, throughout the entire district a plague spread, which they considered a divine punishment for the sacrilege. For atonement the people resorted to fasting and prayer. By January 30, 1689 they were completely free of the plague. This was considered a miracle of Saint George, and thus the feast was established. A Service was written by Nicholas Gavriilopoulos himself, and it was printed in Venice in 1710. The state also ordered on February 7, 1689 that every year a procession was to take place on January 30th. It was decided to build a church in honor of Saint George to house the miraculous icon. This Church of Saint George the Kamariotis of Koumouton, built by the nobleman Yakumo Komoutos on his land in memory of his parents, and which was near Saint Mark Square at the beginning of Mantzarou Road, bore the following inscription: "George, by this church in your city, we foreigners entrust to you our salvation".
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
O God, be merciful to me, a sinner.
O Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God,
for the sake of the prayers
of Thy most pure Mother,
our holy and God-bearing fathers and all the saints, have mercy on us.
Amen.
