献主节 THE MEETING (Presentation) OF OUR LORD IN THE TEMPLE
Ἡ Ὑπαπαντὴ τοῦ Κυρίου καὶ Θεοῦ καὶ Σωτῆρος ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ
Luke 2: 22-40 Now when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were completed, they brought Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord (as it is written in the law of the Lord, "Every male who opens the womb shall be called holy to the LORD"), and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of the Lord, "A pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons." And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord́s Christ. So he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the law, he took Him up in his arms and blessed God and said:
"Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace,
According to Your word;
For my eyes have seen Your salvation
Which You have prepared before the face of all peoples,
A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of Your people Israel."
And Joseph and His mother marveled at those things which were spoken of Him. Then Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary His mother, "Behold, this Child is destined for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which will be spoken against (yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul also), that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed." Now there was one, Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was of a great age, and had lived with a husband seven years from her virginity; and this woman was a widow of about eighty-four years, who did not depart from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. And coming in that instant she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of Him to all those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem. So when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own city, Nazareth. And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.
据《路加福音》第二章记载,圣母玛利亚在耶稣降生后四十日将其带入圣殿、行洁净礼,并将婴儿耶稣献给上帝.
Hypapante, or the Feast of the Encounter of Our Lord, God, and Savior Jesus Christ, 40 days after His sacred birth.
Forty days having passed since the Incarnation of the Lord’s salvation, the nativity from the Ever Virgin without husband, our Lord Jesus Christ was brought on this most honored day into the Temple by his All Pure Mother and the righteous Joseph, in accordance with the shadowy letter of the Law. When the aged Symeon, the Elder, to whom it had been revealed by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death until he had seen the Lord's Christ, had received him in his arms and given thanks and glory to God, he cried out, "Now, Master, release your servant according to your word." And with his great joy he departed from life here, having received that which is heavenly and unending in exchange for that which is of earth.

• The Icon of the Theotokos of SEVEN ARROWS
• Wonderworking Icon of the Theotokos known as "THE SOFTENING OF EVIL HEARTS" or "Simeon's Prophecy"
It depicts the Virgin Mary at the moment that Simeon the Righteous says, "Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also...." (Luke 2:35). She stands with her hands upraised in prayer, and seven swords pierce her heart, indicative of the seven sorrows. This is one of the few Orthodox icons of the Theotokos which do not depict the infant Jesus. The refrain "Rejoice, much-sorrowing Mother of God, turn our sorrows into joy and soften the hearts of evil men!" is also used.

• Synaxis of the Icon of the Theotokos of Panagia GOUMENISSA in Goumenissa, Greece
Σύναξις Ὑπεραγίας Θεοτόκου τῆς Γουμενίσσης
The first report with the name Goumenissa comes from the year 1346, during the era of the Palaiologos Dynasty. In an Imperial Act of this year, the region of Goumenissa was granted to the Holy Monastery of Iveron of Mount Athos and it eventually became an important spiritual centre of central Macedonia because of the Monastery of the Virgin Mary. Next to the Monastery existed a settlement that a little later with the union of small agro-pastoral settlements created a dynamic town that was named Goumenissa. Since the Virgin Mary is the Abbess (Igoumenissa) of Athonite monasteries, the name stuck for this monastic dependency and the town. In 1931 the Monastery became independent. The Monastery has its origins from the various ascetics who had settled on the slopes of Mount Paiko in the 14th century. It is thought that the ruins found at the Church of Saint Paraskevi Pentalofou were once monastic cells. These monastics especially venerated an icon of the Theotokos, which one day vanished from its place and settled 7 km further down where Panagia Goumenissa is found today. When the icon moved they brought it back, but after three times of it miraculously moving away, they realized that it was the will of the Panagia for the icon to settle there. During the Ottoman occupation (1430-1912), the Monastery acquired great wealth and land because of it spiritual importance in the area. In the 19th century, because the monks resisted the Turks, bandits from Turkey and Albania looted the Monastery and hanged the Abbot in the woods of the Monastery, which is today's central square. It was in memory of his sacrifice that the town acquired the name of the Monastery - Goumenissa. Since then the town and the Monastery have been inextricably tied.

• Synaxis of Panagia KOUTSOURIOTISSA in Erateini of Phocis
Before the Monastery was built in 1670, a miracle took place leading to the discovery of her Holy Icon. A Monk of the Monastery of the Archangels in Aigio saw a light that was separate from any other light in its vividness and brilliance, and it always remained at the same spot. This made him wonder with curiosity what the light was. It seemed as if it would be a figure who was illuminated by God. Shortly thereafter his curiosity was satisfied. This Monk saw the Panagia in his dreams who basically told him: "At exactly the spot where you see the light is my icon and I want you to dwell there." These brief words were revealing, and he acted immediately. Going through Corinth into Erateini he came to the spot where he had seen the light. Having descended the steep cliff he came to a cave and at the entrance was a tree, where in its hollow trunk was the icon of the Panagia. A little further inside the cave he built a chapel that still exists today, and there he placed the Holy and Wonderworking Icon. The Holy Icon became known as the Panagia Koutsouriotissa, after the hollow trunk of the tree where the icon was found.
Panagia MAROULIANI in Oia, Santorini
The origin of the name "Marouliani" is rumored to have stemmed from Asia Minor where many years ago (around 1800 AD) in a rural suburb of Smyrna, a Greek farmer found buried in his field under roots of lettuce (μαρουλιών or maroulion) a small wooden icon of the Reception of Christ.

The Pierced Soul of the Theotokos
By St Nikolai Velimirovich
"Yea, a sword shall pierce through thine own soul also" (Luke 2:35).
Who on this earth could even closely compare with the Lord in patient endurance of suffering except His Most Holy Mother? The elder Symeon, adorned with snowy hair like a white swan, prophetically foresaw her future sufferings and likened those sufferings to a sword piercing her soul. One sword had pierced her soul when the righteous Joseph doubted her at the time of her pregnancy; the second, when she had to flee to Egypt before Herod's sword; and the third, fourth and many, many others when she saw the hatred and intrigues of the Jewish elders against her Son day in and day out during the whole time of His preaching and miracle-working among men. But the sharpest sword pierced her soul when she stood beneath the Cross of her Son and Lord. This sword was foreseen and prophesied to her by the holy, aged Symeon. Majestic and moving was her silence, beneath which she covered all her pains and all the wounds of her heart as with a veil.
In the twilight, all these countless pains that had accumulated in her most pure heart shone as an inextinguishable flame of faith and hope in God and dedication to God. This handmaid of the Lord, unsurpassable in nobility! She saw herself clearly in God's plan for the salvation of mankind; she read about herself in the prophets; she spoke with the angels - God's messengers. Therefore, all that came upon her, joy or pain, she knew came from God. She was not jubilant in her joy nor did she murmur in her pain, but rather she remained silent and laid it all up in her heart.
O Most Holy Virgin Theotokos, help us that we may be, like thee, submissive to the will of God. To thy Son and Lord, through thee, be glory and praise forever. Amen.
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
O God, be merciful to me, a sinner.
愿上帝怜恤我罪人
O Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God,
for the sake of the prayers
of Thy most pure Mother,
our holy and God-bearing fathers and all the saints, have mercy on us.
Amen.

Blessed be God.
